************************************************************************* Chul-Gi 3 (Tekki 3) // 36 movements ******************** NOTE: Every stance in this form is either a horse stance or a crossed stance, and every stance is done with toes pointing toward N. There are instances, however, when one should pivot an attack or block in a certain direction to the left or right of the direction N. When this is to be done, it is so noted in the "+", or "direction", column. (See my "Key" on main TKD page.) Because of the uniformity of stance throughout, the familiar "Stance" column has been omitted here. ******************** + Movement Action __ __________ _______________ N Attention. Step with Rf into Horse stance; L middle outward block (radius side) Scissor block (L-low forearm block) (R-middle outward block) Bring R-arm sharply into an inward forearm block as the L-fist comes in front of solar plexus, arm parallel to the floor, guarding. Bring R-arm up in an upward sweeping block. (L-arm remains as is.) R backfist to the philtrum. (L arm as before.) Pull R-fist down to a chambered position. As you do this, the Left hand opens and is chambered, palm-down, slightly above the R-fist. (L forearm is still parallel to the floor, guarding.) R middle punch (L open hand rests atop the R-elbow, guarding.) E Look sharply toward E; Turn your extended arm over sharply so that the fist is now palm-up. (L open hand remains as is.) Cross Lf in front of Rf (Upper body maintains same position.) (crossed stance) Step with Rf into Horse stance; R pressing inverted low forearm block (toward E). (L arm is still as before, open and above the R elbow.) Keeping the left open hand on the R-elbow, swing the right arm up across the body in an arcing motion, then downward to a position about 2-4 inches above the R knee. (R fist is now palm-down.) N Turn head sharply toward N; Pull R fist into a chamber at R-hip. L hand is open, palm-down, slightly above the R-fist. (L forearm is in front of solar plexus, parallel to the floor.) R middle punch. (L-open hand rests palm-down above R-elbow, guarding.) Scissor block (R-middle outward block) (L-low forearm block) Scissor block (L-middle outward block) (R-low forearm block) L-upper sweeping block (R-arm remains as is.) L fist comes down into a backfist (to the philtrum). R fist guards under the L-elbow, forearm parallel to floor.) W Turn head sharply toward W; upper body as before Cross Rf in front of Lf (Upper body same as before) (crossed stance) N With Lf, stomp into a horse stance and sharply turn head toward N. (Upper body still as before.) Sharply swing the L-fist inward across the body to do L-inward forearm block (ulna side). (R-arm remains as is; i.e. it should still be guarding in front of solar plexus, parallel to the floor.) L upper sweeping block. (R arm remains as is.) L fist snaps down into a backfist to the philtrum. (R arm remains as is.) Chamber L fist to the R-hip. (R-hand now opens, palm-down, and guards slightly above the L fist.) L middle punch (R open hand rests atop the L-elbow of extended arm.) W As you turn your head sharply toward W, turn the extended arm (i.e. punching arm) so that the fist is now palm-up. (R arm remains as is.) Cross Rf over in front of Lf (Upper body remains as before.) (Crossed stance) Step with Lf into Horse stance; L-pressing inverted low forearm block (R open hand is still above L-elbow) Keeping the R open hand on the L-elbow, swing the left arm up across the body an arcing motion, then downward to a position 2-4 inches above the L-knee. (Your L-fist should now be palm-down.) N Turn head sharply toward N; Chamber L-fist at R-hip. (R open hand is guarding, palm-down, slightly above the L fist, arm parallel to the floor.) L middle punch (R open hand is atop the L-elbow.) E Turn head toward E as you pull the L-fist back into a chamber at the L-hip while swinging the R-arm up across the body in an arcing motion, then downward into a grabbing block. (You are grabbing the top of an opponent's arm just above the elbow.) Pull R arm sharply into a chambered position at R-hip, while simultaneously doing a L-horizontal punch. Cross Lf in front of Rf (Upper body remains as before.) (Crossed stance) N Stomp Rf out into Horse stance; Turn head sharply toward N as you do: L outward middle block (radius side). Scissor block (L-low forearm block) (R-middle outward block) R upward sweeping block. (L arm remains as is.) Snap the R fist down into a backfist to the philtrum. (L fist comes up under the R-elbow and should be guarding, parallel to the floor.) Rf -> Lf Attention.
