**************************************************************************** Chul-Gi 2 (Tekki 2) // 24 movements ******************* NOTE: Every stance in this form is either a horse stance or a crossed stance (with the exception of one "feet-together stance"). And *every* stance is done with toes pointing toward N. There are instances, however, when one should pivot an attack or block in a certain direction to the left or right of the direction N. When this is to be done, it is so noted in the "+", or "direction", column. (See my "Key" on main TKD page.) Because of the uniformity of stances throughout, the familiar "Stance" column has been omitted here. ******************* + Movement Action __ __________ __________ N Attention (Ready) E Cross Lf in front of Rf Twin elbow spreading strike/release (crossed stance) Step with Rf into Horse stance. R outward middle block (ulna side) (L arm blocks parallel to the ground at the solar plexus.) Cross Lf in front of Rf Keeping eyes toward E, do a (crossed stance) R inverted inward low forearm block (toward N). L-hand, palm-down, rests on the inside of the blocking arm's elbow. Step with Rf into Horse stance; Hand positions remain fixed but are swung outward (toward E) to do a R inverted outward low block. L hand remains at crook of elbow. W Turn head sharply toward W. Bring Lf alongside Rf Twin elbow spreading strike/release Step with Lf into Horse stance; L outward middle block (ulna side) R arm blocks parallel to the ground at the solar plexus. Cross Rf in front of Lf L inverted inward low forearm block (cross stance) (toward N). R hand rests palm down atop the inside of blocking arm's elbow Step with Lf into Horse stance; Hand positions remain fixed but are swung outward to the right (toward W) to do L-inverted outward low block (radius side of arm). R-hand remains at crook of elbow. E Turn head sharply toward E Chamber both fists to the L hip. R outward middle block (radius side) L-open hand supports against the side of right wrist. N Lift R-leg high inside as if to stomp, while chambering both fists to the R-hip. Stomp Rf down into Horse stance: R elbow strike (toward N) L open hand is vertical in front of chest and is against the knuckles of the R fist. (here, the point of your striking elbow should be pointing N, while the fist points back against your chest.) E Swing R open hand in a circle up and in front of body and then downward. (You are grabbing the top of an opponent's arm right above the elbow.) The palm is face down and open as if to grab. Pull R arm into a chamber at R hip, while doing L-horizontal punch. Cross Lf over in front of Rf Keep arms in same position (i.e. that (crossed stance) of horizontal punch) N Stomp out into Horse Stance L outward middle block (radius side) R arm does an upward sweeping block while the L-arm swings down sharply into an outward low forearm block. Then, R arm swings down into a backfist strike (to the philtrum) while L-fist is under R-elbow, arm parallel to the floor, supporting/blocking.) W Turn head sharply toward W as you chamber both fists to the R hip. L outward middle block (radius side) R open hand supporting against the side of the left wrist. N Lift L-leg high inside as if to stomp, while chambering both fists to the left whip. Stomp Lf into Horse stance; L elbow strike (toward N) R open hand is vertical in front of chest and is against the knuckles of the L-fist. (see above) W Swing L-open hand in a circle, up and in front of the body, then downward to grab top of opponent's arm. (see above). Pull L-arm into a chamber at L-hip while doing R-horizontal punch. Cross Rf over in front of Lf keep hands in same position (crossed stance) (i.e. that of a horizontal punch) N Stomp toward W into Horse stance and do: R middle outward block (radius side) (toward N) L arm does an upward sweeping block while the R-arm swings down into a low forearm block. Then, the L arm swings down sharply into L backfist strike (to philtrum), while R-fist is under the L-elbow, arm parallel to the floor, guarding. Bring Rf -> Lf Attention.
